Emily Hart tagged me right before I went into blogging hibernation. Lest she think I tossed her request aside, here I go with six things about me (most of them very random) that you may or may not already know or find interesting:
1. Laundry detergent is my favorite smell in the whole wide world. My best fixes came from Victoria's Secret laundry soap. I'm not sure they even make it anymore because I haven't bought it since I was single and could 1) afford it and 2) wash my clothes by themselves. I wouldn't subject Kelly to smelling like Vicki's.
2. I am a cat person. There. I said it. I have long been shy of being open about this fact because of characters like Elmyra and Angela and the crazy old cat lady down the street (please don't let me become her!). I don't decorate in cat themes or wear cat clothing (oh wait--my leopard print shoes, but those don't count, right?). I am just generally fond of the animal and look forward to living somewhere I can have one.
3. I frequently dream about The Office. Worst dream: Pam hooked up with Dwight. Best dream: I attended Pam and Jim's wedding.
4. I went on a Spanish-speaking Mormon mission to South Side Chicago where I spent a year and a half in mostly Hispanic neighborhoods. Hispanic people are warm, vibrant and generous, and I hope our government can figure out a way to smooth out the immigration process. It is a big complicated issue, but I believe these immigrants contribute a lot to our society (not just our economy) when we give them a reasonable chance. Besides, I really love Mexican food.
5. I'm a word nerd. You could remove "word" from that last sentence and it would still be true. I love reading. Scrabble brings out my competitive side, and I'm a sucker for something well-said.
6. I've wanted to live in Seattle since I was a junior in high school. Dreams really do come true.
I tag...Kelly, Brittney, Tara, Eric and Brandon. Go!

I love that you have publicly admitted your Office dreams. That, to me, makes up for the fact that you like cats. (Cats, Lindy? Cats?)Yet I love you still.
I, too, am a cat fan. I spent a week alone one summer with only my sister's cat for company, and I don't like being alone! Ever since, I've really appreciated the quiet companionship that they bring, though I will admit, there are good cats and bad ones! :)
Victoria's Secret makes laundry detergent??? That make's ol' Vickers seem so....domestic. Talk about your 'well-rounded' woman (wink wink). And I'll admit it proudly--I'm a word nerd too. My grandma raised us on Scrabble. So name the time and the place, Layland---I want to meet your competitive side!
VS detergent is the best! I always wash our bedding in it. I'm pretty sure they still sell it, at least at the PTC store. It's pricey but worth the indulgence. I forgot about the cat thing - you shared that secret once with me and I think I forgot it on purpose so I could go on liking you as much as I did before you disclosed it :) And, I LOVE your word obsession. I think you have a way with words and I always love reading what you say on your blog because it's always well said/written.
You are hilarious! I had just figured you weren't a fan of the whole tagging thing. It was fun to learn some "interesting" things about you.
You should not be ashamed of loving cats. Do you remember the kitty who used to come hang out in our stairwell sometimes?
